My name is Marcie Hunter. I have been doing web and graphic design for 9 years. I started out creating a website and graphics for a wedding and family photo video business I was starting. My husband is a web programmer and was able to hook me up with some good information for me to get started.
In October of 2000, my husband was laid off from his job at a small web shop. We began doing work for some of his former companies clients. I learned html and how to use photoshop. I began to love designing and creating graphics.
In 2003 I began a scrapbook supply retail business. I joined the scrapbook retailer's group ScrapBiz. I created the website for my scrapbook business. I learned so much about creating a retail website. In the time I spent on ScrapBiz I found many great business resources and support. I also found a need for a web designer that understood the scrapbook industry. I began helping others to design and create their websites. I started figuring out what clients wanted and needed in a website as well as what worked and what didn't. I have really enjoyed all of the clients I have worked with. I have benefitted from their creativity and vision. I have learned many things from each opportunity I have had to create and design a website.
In 2005 I worked for a short time as a digital scrapbook designer. I enjoyed creating graphics that people would use in preserving their memories. This gave me an opportunity to learn new skills and broaden my design ability.
Toward the end of 2005, Kim Guymon, the owner of ScrapBiz, contacted me to begin working for her to maintain the ScrapBiz website. I was thrilled to be able to do this. I love ScrapBiz! The support and resources are priceless.
Soon after beginning my work on ScrapBiz I decided to formally make web and graphic design my business. I chose the name MarcieMo Designs for my company. When I was younger my mom use to call me MarcieMo (because of the clothing designer Mossimo). MarcieMo Designs is a fun and creative name. I love being creative and hope to be able to create something unique and fun for you and your business.
